Welcome to the Hardt Foundation Library
The library of the Hardt Foundation is a highly specialised research library. The Foundation provides its guests (among others : classical philologists, historians of antiquity, historians of philosophy, of religion, of Greek and Roman laws and institutions) with the texts and working tools necessary for their research.
With almost 40,000 volumes available (including specialist periodicals), the library specializes in the Greek and Latin authors (from Homer to the Church Fathers). In addition, it includes commentaries, corpora, scholia and indexes. The domains of History and Philosophy are similarly represented. Volumes on epigraphy, papyrology, archaeology and numismatics are likewise available.
Thanks to the financial support of the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, and an agreement signed with the Library Network of Western Switzerland (RERO), The Hardt Foundation was able to make its catalog available online. The said work is presently accessible via the following links:
